Storage and Inventory Management

Multi-tiered temperature ecosystems engineered for every product class, with piece-level traceability and ISO-certified operations.

Storage and Inventory Management

Overview

Considering that warehousing is the critical hinge in every client's supply chain, Kerma Logistics has built its storage operations around a single principle: removing administrative friction so our partners can focus on their core business. By absorbing the operational complexity, we materially reduce overhead and elevate the service level our clients deliver to their own customers.

Every warehouse in our network is fitted with the mechanical equipment, monitoring systems, and trained personnel needed to execute the daily rhythm of logistics — from inbound receiving to outbound dispatch — with measured precision.

Four temperature paradigms, one integrated facility

We manage stock daily across four distinct thermodynamic conditions, each separated mechanically and monitored continuously:

  • Dry Load — Standard ambient atmospheric storage for non-perishables.
  • Temperature Controlled (18–20°C) — Broadly regulated band preventing thermal degradation from seasonal extremes.
  • Maintenance — A strictly regulated thermal range crucial for delicate food products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and fine beverages.
  • Freezing — Sub-zero deep freeze for frozen foods, biological materials, and specialized feed.

Internal warehouse temperature is recorded continuously, and traceability extends down to the individual piece level.

Surgical traceability via WMS

Our specialized Warehouse Management System captures and tracks every operationally relevant parameter — expiration date, production date, Lot Number, Serial Number — enabling surgical product recalls and impeccable audit trails. When a recall is required, we can isolate the exact units in question without touching the surrounding stock.

Certified operations

The combination of our computerized WMS, internationally recognized quality certifications, and an experienced, qualified team forms the operational shield around every client's inventory:

  • ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management System.
  • ISO 22000:2005 — Food Safety Management System (HACCP-based).

Services · Freight Forwarding

Freight Forwarding

Road, air, sea, and combined transport — door-to-door, anywhere your cargo needs to travel.

Freight Forwarding

Overview

Kerma Logistics architects end-to-end transportation solutions that bridge domestic production with international markets. Whether your cargo is moving across the Attica region or across continents, we handle the entire route — door to door — using whichever mode (or combination of modes) best fits the timeline, budget, and nature of the goods.

Modes of transport

  • Road Transport — Continental flexibility for European-bound cargo and last-mile distribution.
  • Marine Transportation — Full Container Load (FCL) and Less-than-Container Load (LCL) ocean freight, leveraging Greece's strategic Mediterranean position.
  • Air Transportation — For high-value or time-critical cargo where speed is the priority.
  • Combined / Intermodal Transfer — Engineered combinations of road, rail, sea, and air optimized for cost and transit time.

A global correspondent network

Through a well-organized network of correspondents and partner carriers, we guarantee that every consignment is handled under the best possible commercial and operational conditions. We service full loads (FTL / FCL) as well as partial loads (groupage / LTL), giving smaller shippers access to the same network and pricing dynamics as larger consignors.

Why clients choose us

  • Single point of accountability across multiple carriers and modes.
  • Documentation handled end-to-end (bill of lading, AWB, customs paperwork).
  • Real-time tracking and proactive exception management.
  • Competitive rates through volume aggregation across our client base.

Services · Cross Docking

Cross Docking

High-velocity distribution that bypasses traditional storage — inbound to outbound in a single shift.

Cross Docking

Overview

Cross docking is a deliberately lean form of distribution: inbound goods arrive, get sorted, and depart on outbound vehicles — often within the same shift — without ever entering long-term storage. The result is dramatically shorter cycle times from supplier to end recipient and a measurable reduction in storage cost per unit.

The Kerma cross-docking workflow

We receive ready-made orders, transfer them to smaller distribution vehicles, and dispatch them through our nationwide distribution network to the final recipients. Each step is coordinated through our WMS, so visibility is never lost in transit.

  • Inbound shipment arrives at the dock from supplier or import port.
  • Goods are scanned, validated against the outbound plan, and sorted.
  • Items are transferred directly onto outbound distribution vehicles.
  • Outbound vehicles depart for end recipients via our distribution network.

Operational advantages

  • Reduced distribution time from supplier to end recipient.
  • Lower distribution and storage costs per shipment.
  • Improved customer service through faster delivery.
  • Higher overall throughput and stronger business performance.

Particularly well-suited to FMCG sectors, e-commerce fulfillment, and time-sensitive seasonal campaigns, our cross-docking service compresses the supply chain without compromising visibility or control.

Services · Customs Procedures & Clearance

Customs Procedures & Clearance

Specialized partners and frictionless processing for cargo from any origin.

Customs Procedures

Overview

Operating at the Mediterranean nexus means cargo regularly crosses customs boundaries — and any delay at the border ripples backward through the entire supply chain. Kerma Logistics works alongside specialized customs clearance partners with the expertise and credentials to manage cargo arriving from any third country and to push every necessary customs procedure through quickly and cleanly.

What we handle

  • Import and export documentation preparation.
  • HS code classification and tariff advisory.
  • Duty and VAT calculation.
  • Compliance with EU and Greek customs regulations.
  • Coordination with port authorities and customs officials.
  • Resolution of customs holds, inspections, and queries.

An integrated component, not an afterthought

We treat customs clearance as an integrated component of the supply chain — never an isolated step bolted onto the end of a shipment. Documentation is prepared in parallel with cargo movement, classifications are reviewed before goods arrive, and our partners are positioned to respond the moment cargo lands. As a result, goods continue moving the moment regulatory clearance is granted.

The cost of customs delays

A container held in customs typically accrues demurrage at the port, storage fees at the terminal, and downstream disruption costs from missed delivery windows. Working with experienced clearance partners isn't a luxury — it's the cheapest insurance against avoidable delays.

Services · Customs Warehousing

Customs Warehousing

Defer duties and VAT while inventory is staged for the European market.

Customs Warehousing

Overview

A customs (bonded) warehouse is a secured facility where goods imported from outside the EU can be stored without immediate payment of import duties and VAT. Duties become payable only when the goods are released into free circulation in the EU — meaning capital remains free, and inventory can be staged strategically for European distribution.

Why bonded storage matters financially

For multinational distributors using Greece as their European gateway, bonded storage is the financial mechanism that makes the geography work. It enables:

  • Deferral of customs duty and VAT until goods are sold or formally released.
  • Re-export to non-EU destinations without ever paying EU duty.
  • Consolidation of inbound shipments from multiple suppliers into a single managed inventory.
  • Strategic staging of inventory close to European demand centers.
  • Cash-flow optimization on slow-moving or high-value stock.

How Kerma operates bonded storage

Kerma Logistics operates fully authorized customs warehouses in coordination with our specialized clearance partners. The combination of bonded storage and in-house customs expertise means clients have a single counterpart managing both the physical handling and the regulatory side — no separate forwarder, customs broker, and warehouse contact to coordinate between.

Ideal use cases

  • Importers serving multiple EU markets from a single hub.
  • Distributors of high-duty product categories (alcohol, tobacco, certain electronics).
  • Companies with seasonal demand who want to defer duty until point-of-sale.
  • Re-exporters routing product through Greece to non-EU markets.

Services · Reverse Logistics

Reverse Logistics

Comprehensive return flows engineered for speed, cost, and value recovery.

Reverse Logistics

Overview

Reverse Logistics is the often-overlooked side of the supply chain — the flow of products moving back from end users to retailers, suppliers, or manufacturers. Returns are unavoidable in modern commerce, particularly in e-commerce, fashion, and electronics, and managing them well is a direct competitive advantage.

Kerma Logistics organizes and executes return flows quickly and at reduced cost, transforming what is usually a financial drain into a controlled, measurable process.

What it looks like in practice

  • Pickup and consolidation of returns from end customers.
  • Quality assessment and disposition — restock, refurbish, repackage, or dispose.
  • Repackaging and re-labeling for re-sale where appropriate.
  • Routing back to the original supplier or manufacturer when required.
  • Inventory reconciliation through our WMS so stock levels stay accurate.
  • Refund / credit triggers integrated with client systems.

Why it matters

A poorly managed returns process is invisible cost: lost inventory, damaged stock written off, customer frustration, and disconnected financial data. A well-managed returns process recovers value, restores accurate inventory positions, and keeps the customer relationship intact.

Whether you're recovering value from returned consumer goods or managing reverse flows of pallets, packaging, or defective stock back to suppliers, the same operational rigor applied to your outbound shipments is applied to the journey back.

Services · E-Commerce Fulfillment

E-Commerce Fulfillment

Piece-level order execution, packed and dispatched via courier — with real-time storefront integration.

E-Commerce Fulfillment

Overview

E-commerce has rewritten the rules of logistics. Orders are smaller, more frequent, and customer-individual — and the expectation is fast, accurate delivery in clean, often branded packaging. Kerma Logistics is built to execute at exactly that level.

Our system handles orders at the individual piece level: each SKU is picked, packed in specialized e-commerce packaging (poly bags, mailers, boxes), and handed off to the courier network for last-mile delivery.

What our e-commerce service includes

  • Single-unit picking with handheld scanning and accuracy verification.
  • Specialized packaging — poly bags, mailers, custom boxes, branded inserts.
  • Same-day or next-day courier cutoffs for fast dispatch.
  • Returns intake integrated with our reverse logistics service.
  • Real-time inventory visibility via WMS and API integration with your storefront or marketplace.

Built to scale with you

Whether you operate a D2C brand, a marketplace seller, or a retailer expanding into online channels, the infrastructure scales with order volume — without you needing to negotiate, build, or staff a fulfillment center yourself. The same WMS that anchors our enterprise warehousing operations also powers e-commerce pick-pack-ship at piece level, so you inherit enterprise-grade reliability from day one.

Common sectors we serve

  • Fashion and apparel D2C brands.
  • Beauty and cosmetics.
  • Specialty food and beverage.
  • Consumer electronics and accessories.
  • Home goods and lifestyle products.

Services · Distribution

Distribution

24–48 hours to central Greek cities, with the most modern fleet on the road.

Distribution

Overview

Kerma Logistics provides timely and reliable distribution of finished goods nationwide. We cover every dispatch requirement — from full pallets to individual parcels — operating one of the most modern fleets in the Greek market.

Speed and coverage

Orders are dispatched immediately. Central Greek cities are reached within 24–48 hours, and our service network extends across the entire country. Whether the destination is Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, or a smaller regional town, we have the routes and the partners to land your shipment on time.

End-to-end capability

Our distribution service can begin from anywhere in the chain:

  • From the door of a foreign production facility.
  • From a customer or supplier premises within Greece or abroad.
  • From our own warehousing facilities.

…and ends at the final consumer's door — meaning a single operator manages the entire downstream chain, with one accountable counterpart rather than a chain of handoffs.

Our fleet

A mix of privately owned vehicles (D.X.) and dedicated partner D.X. vehicles, supported by a service network covering all of Greece, gives us both reach and responsiveness. The fleet is modern, well-maintained, and right-sized for the goods we carry — from small parcel vans to full-trailer trucks.

Cost-efficient & always on time

That isn't a slogan. It's our foundational service-level commitment.

Services · Added Value Services

Added Value Services

Repacking, labeling, shrink-wrapping, bundling, palletizing — final-mile customization close to the moment of dispatch.

Added Value Services

Overview

Modern logistics is no longer about moving boxes from point A to point B. It's about delivering goods market-ready, in compliance, and configured for the channel selling them. Kerma Logistics maintains a dedicated Added Value Services department to execute exactly that — final-mile customization performed inside the warehouse, immediately before shipment.

The services we offer

  • Repacking — Converting bulk inbound packaging into retail-ready or e-commerce-ready units.
  • Labeling — Barcodes, country-of-sale compliance labels, multilingual labels, promotional stickers, regulatory markings.
  • Shrinkage (Shrink-Wrapping) — Heat-shrink film for protection, multi-pack bundling, or tamper-evident packaging.
  • Bundling — Multi-unit configurations for promotions, kits, or channel-specific assortments.
  • Wrapping — Stretch-film and protective wrapping for transit safety.
  • Palletizing — Custom pallet building for retail distribution centers, wholesale clients, or end customers.

Why it's called "postponement"

The strategic principle behind these services is postponement — keeping goods generic for as long as possible and customizing them late in the cycle. The benefit to our clients is enormous flexibility: the same inventory can be deployed across markets, channels, and campaigns without the cost or risk of pre-configuring stock upstream.

A retailer launching a limited promotion can have product bundled and labeled the same week the campaign starts, not weeks earlier at the factory. A multi-market distributor can ship the same SKU to Germany, Italy, and Greece with country-specific labels applied just before dispatch — from one shared inventory pool.

Typical use cases

  • Seasonal promotional bundling for FMCG.
  • Country-specific compliance labeling for multi-market distributors.
  • Retail-ready pallet building for big-box channels.
  • Kitting for e-commerce subscription boxes.

Services · Security of Goods

Security of Goods

Physical protection, continuous monitoring, and comprehensive insurance coverage — three layers, complete peace of mind.

Security of Goods

Overview

Goods in our care are protected on three layers: physical security infrastructure inside every facility, continuous operational monitoring, and a comprehensive insurance policy covering goods in storage.

Physical and operational security

Every warehouse is equipped with security systems providing the maximum practical protection for stored goods. This includes:

  • Access control at every entry point.
  • Continuous surveillance (CCTV) of storage and dock areas.
  • Trained personnel managing day and night operations.
  • Defined chain-of-custody procedures for every movement.

Insurance coverage

Beyond physical security, Kerma Logistics ensures that all stored products are covered by an insurance policy. The policy covers, indicatively:

  • Fire and lightning.
  • Earthquake.
  • Crystal/glass breakage.
  • Theft.
  • Pipeline and irrigation system rupture.
  • Storm and flood.
  • Strikes, riots, and civil unrest.
  • Malicious acts.
  • Terrorism and terrorist activities.

Why a three-layer approach matters

Physical security prevents most incidents. Monitoring catches and contains the ones that do occur. Insurance ensures that in the rare worst-case scenario, financial exposure is bounded and recoverable. None of the three alone is sufficient; together they give clients complete peace of mind that their goods — and their balance sheet — are protected.
